Liverpool forward Luis Díaz has reaffirmed his commitment to the club amid ongoing rumors linking him with a move away from Anfield. The Colombian international, who joined Liverpool from FC Porto in January 2022, currently has two years remaining on his contract.
Following his standout performance and 17th goal of the season in a recent 2-2 Premier League draw against Arsenal, Díaz addressed questions about his future during an interview with Telemundo Deportes.
“Yes, I’m happy,” Díaz said when asked if he wants to stay at Liverpool. “From the first day I arrived, I’ve always been happy and calm, enjoying the football played at this great club.”
The 28-year-old hinted that contract renewal talks may soon be underway, adding,
“We’ll be talking about it. For me, I would stay however many years it takes. But it also depends on the club. These are details that are sorted out separately.”
Despite persistent transfer rumors, Díaz emphasized his satisfaction with life at Liverpool, where he has enjoyed his most productive season to date. In addition to his 17 goals across all competitions, he has provided eight assists, contributing significantly to the club’s attacking output.
Having featured in all but two of Liverpool’s 36 Premier League matches, Díaz has become an indispensable part of the squad under incoming manager Arne Slot. His ability to perform effectively both as a left winger and center forward has been key in helping Liverpool secure their 20th league title.
What’s Next for Luis Díaz?
While clubs across Europe continue to monitor Díaz’s situation, his comments suggest he remains firmly committed to continuing his journey at Anfield. Fans will be eager to see if Liverpool FC will move quickly to extend his contract and ward off potential suitors.
